Amarone della Valpolicella Corte Giara represents an eclectic and modern interpretation of the Veronese winemaking tradition that arises from a project developed in 1989 by the Allegrini family, responding to the need to adapt classic production to daily consumption. This Amarone faithfully reflects the tradition that makes it a great red of international fame, but at the same time expresses a modern style, in step with the evolution of contemporary taste. In addition to replicating the traditional procedures required for its vinification, we find a specific aging of 15 months that gives it a peculiar intensity and balance, making it pleasant even for less trained palates.

Allegrini 's “La Groletta” is a Valpolicella Ripasso that comes from a characteristic blend of the Veneto terroir, Corvina, present in the final blend at 70%, and Rondinella. The vines of these two native varieties grow on the Corte Giara estate with the pergola system, within a vineyard facing south-east and characterized by the presence of limestone in the subsoil. The bunches are harvested manually during the first week of October, and once they arrive in the wine-making rooms they are de-stemmed. The berries are softly pressed, and the must that is obtained carries out a first fermentation in steel, the refermentation takes place on the dried skins of the Amarone, thus following the typical production criteria of Ripasso. Finally, refinement follows, in which the wine rests for 11 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
