VINTAGE CHARACTERISTICS The 2017 vintage was characterized by a mild and dry winter and by a spring with little rainfall, which favored budding and early flowering of at least 20 days. In the second decade of April, night frosts slowed the development of the shoots without fortunately causing damage. From the month of May there was an increase in temperatures above the seasonal averages and no rain. In conditions of low water supply, the plants responded positively, despite the reduction in yields, the quality was good thanks to careful management of the greenery.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SOIL Medium-textured and rich in skeleton. Prevalence of clays of calcareous-marl origin, coming from the disintegration of the Alberese and Galestro and resting on rocks.

VINIFICATION AND AGING Fermentation in contact with the skins for 20-25 days in steel at a temperature of 30 ° C. Malolactic fermentation and maturation in 225 liter French oak barrels for 18/20 months. Aging in the bottle for 8 months.
