Elisabetta's dream of creating a passito wine in Maremma came true with the birth of this sweet wine, capable of interpreting the meditative version of her personality. Solalto is the result of the drying of grapes from the vineyards of Traminer, Sauvignon and Semillon, near Scansano. The design on the label was made by Clara, Elisabetta's eldest daughter, when she was little and represents our land embraced by the sea and kissed by the sun, just like the grapes of this wine.

They called it the Lady of Morellino and also the Ambassador of the Maremma for having brought its values, aromas and intensity around the world. She was the first female president of a Consortium when in 1992 she took over the reins of the newly established Morellino di Scansano Consortium, a role she held again between 2011 and 2013. In addition to being the first female president of a consortium structure in Italy, in 2006 Elisabetta was also the first woman elected "Producer of the Year" by the German food and wine magazine Der Feinschmecker.

The origins of Fattoria Le Pupille
Fattoria Le Pupille has a history that dates back to many years ago, when Elisabetta's father, a railway engineer, purchased the farm that everyone called Le Pupille. The name derives from the turrets that were located on the top of some surrounding hills, which looked like eyes looking at the farm. Initially, Elisabetta's father had bought the farm as a holiday resort for his family, but he soon decided to plant some vines and produce wine for family consumption.
After her father's death in 1985, Elisabetta decided to take over the company and transform it into a modern wine-growing reality. His ambitious vision would become the cornerstone of the farm's success.
The first labels
In 1982, Fattoria Le Pupille produced its first "official" label, a 1978 vintage Morellino Riserva. This wine, produced with Sangiovese grapes grown in the Tuscan Maremma, was enthusiastically welcomed by Italian and foreign consumers. In 1987, the farm produced its most famous label, Saffredi. This wine, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, soon became a true jewel of Italian winemaking, earning recognition and awards around the world.
International success
Today, Fattoria Le Pupille wines are present in over forty countries around the world, from Italy to the United States, from China to Australia. Elizabeth passed management of the business to her eldest daughter, Clara, but continues to oversee the production process and grow the farm's success.
The success of Fattoria Le Pupille is largely due to the quality of its wines, but also to the passion and determination of Elisabetta Geppetti. His ambitious vision of creating a high quality wine in a region that was not yet considered valuable paved the way for many other wineries in the Maremma.
