Brand: Castel Sallegg
Castel Sallegg and Moscato Rosa are two concepts associated, for some time now, with South Tyrol. The reason is founded: in 1892, during their transfer from Sicily, the princes of Campofranco, ancestors of the current owner, Count Georg von Kuenburg, brought this noble vine to Castel Sallegg in Caldaro, planting it in the warmest soils on the banks of the homonymous lake, where it thrives majestically. Today Moscato Rosa belongs to the rarest varieties in the world. Our wine grows at the Seehof, in San Giuseppe at Lake Caldaro, 230 m above sea level, on a traditional pergola.
Fermentation cellar
This is the place at Castel Sallegg where technical innovation and tradition come together.
Fermentation of the young wines takes place in modern steel tanks, each of which can be cooled or heated during the process, an essential requirement for controlled fermentation.
Subsequent storage in steel produces fresh, fruity wines.
