TRADITION AND QUALITY
In 1988, a group of winegrowers, believing that the social wine cellar alone could not receive and process all the grapes of our country, got together and formed a cooperative to which they gave the name of a hill in Miglianico covered with lush vineyards: la Castellina. It is a company with almost 30 years of experience, present only in the national market.
The main characteristics that distinguish our company are the quality of the products that are made with the traditional system and the simplicity of the administration conducted almost on a family level. Our D.O.C. wines contain neither preservatives nor chemical medicines. This cooperative was established in the place of a private wine cellar in the Cerreto district. In addition to local farmers, many winegrowers from the neighbouring villages joined in, so that it reached a production capacity of around 40,000 quintals. It is therefore not a large winery. It is young, and every year it gradually expands its facilities with the installation of new oenological tanks. It only has a domestic market, currently with the prospect of expanding, of putting in a modern bottling complex to also export abroad. The distinguishing features of La Castellina are above all the quality of the products, which are made using the traditional system, and the simplicity of the administration, which is almost family-run. In this day and age, when consumers do not want sophisticated products, but prefer wines without preservatives or chemical medicines, they are prepared to travel many kilometres.
