The Liburnians belonged to the Illyrian populations of the Adriatic coasts of Croatia in the 7th century aC They were feared pirates who invaded our coasts. They were subjected by the Romans in 156 aC . They later integrated with the populations of our coasts and were growers and producers of grapes and wine which they supplied to the capital. Traces of their presence have been found in the area of the Company. Thus our wine, the result of a "blend", vinified in the old-fashioned way, bears a name that recalls its origins and the most ancient winemaking traditions.
