There is the perfectionist of Pinot Noir, the purist of Chardonnay, the inventor of apparently new vine training systems that you then discover to be the legacy of ancient knowledge. And there is the poet of Pinot blanc who always manages to surprise us a moment after the umpteenth discussion on the green pruning method. And again, there are the six vocated units of Franciacorta, so different from each other that we have succumbed to the temptation to cultivate vineyards in each of them, with the determination to make them similar in a single principle of method: attention to the most subtle differences, manual and meticulous care of the vineyard to make it perfectly healthy and long-lived.
For us, all this variety is a great asset that we bring to the cellar at each harvest to be able to say of our Franciacorta wines that they are true blends of wines of different origins that bring their own uniqueness and express themselves in the cuvées through a complete and complex balance, destined to achieve perfect harmony over time.
The origins:
Adro land of wine
Monte Alto provides protection from the northern winds and the mists of the Po Valley. At the time of glaciation, this long isolated mountain divided Lake Iseo into two gulfs side by side, Iseo on Brescian soil and Sarnico on Bergamo soil. The mountain is made up of marine sedimentary rocks, namely limestone, marlstone and sandstone. Soils perfect for the cultivation of vines, and exploited in the past by brick and cement quarries.
