In the green heart of the municipality of Torano Nuovo, in the province of Teramo, on the top of the luxuriant "Torri" hill which rises between the Adriatic to the east and the Gran Sasso to the south, the Strappelli winery was born and developed.
Twelve hectares of land entirely planted with vines and made extremely fertile by the mild climate, characterized by the absence of strong winds and sufficient summer rainfall.
The climate, nature and Guido Strappelli 's passion for one of the oldest crops ensure excellent quality of the wines produced.
Torano Nuovo, situated on a hill, 241 meters slm , offers one of the most enchanting and picturesque panoramas of the province, surrounded by valleys and hillocks dotted with charming farmhouses and luxuriant vineyards. It is known for the cultivation of vines and for the production of wine, which has been famous since ancient times. The production of wine is so important that Torano Nuovo has been called the "Capital of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo". The rich menu of typical Torano products is completed by cold cuts and hams from the five seasons, spelled, ancient grains, cheese and honey. For its food and wine typicality it certainly deserves the title of "country of taste".
Not to be missed and to visit: the parish church of the Madonna delle Grazie, that of San Massimo in Varano and that of San Martino di Torri together with the "Piazzetta" and the Museum of sacred art.
Nearby Teramo, the provincial capital, certainly deserves a visit: a city of very ancient origins where there are the remains of the Roman period up to the Middle Ages and the Bourbon fortress of Civitella del Tronto.
