Thanks to similar conditions, the grapes reach the correct stage of ripeness and are used as raw material for fine and refined wines. The red in question is balanced, but at the same time complex, rich in tannins and with a long and persistent finish. We are talking about a wine that optimally represents its terroir and demonstrates the company's desire to achieve excellent results with modern techniques. For the Veneto IGT "Fratta" Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines are used, both of French origins, but widespread throughout the world and, in particular, in this area of the Veneto. The working method of the Maculan cellar involves manual harvesting in crates and fermentation in steel in contact with indigenous yeasts. The process is completed by a one-year refinement in oak barriques, thanks to which the flavors of the Veneto IGT "Fratta" are further harmonized with each other. The Cabernet Sauvignon of Tenuta Morganti was born in Torano Nuovo in the province of Teramo, from vineyards located at an altitude of 240 meters, immersed in the splendid hills of Abruzzo, a step away from the sea and two from the mountains. Gaia and Sveva, the lively third generation of the Morganti family who run the company, have chosen to dress their bottles with the colorful designs of the well-known cartoonist Nando Perilli. The Cabernet grapes ferment in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature for about 20 days, then refine briefly, again in steel, and another two months in glass. 1300 bottles of this wine are produced each year.

From the Ca 'de' Rocchi line, the flagship of the company, comes this equal blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot aged in 5 and 10 hectolitre barrels for about a year. The name of the wine, Dugal, derives from the behavior of the two vines that every year try to excel one over the other, like “two roosters in the hen house”. Dugal has a dense and almost impenetrable purplish ruby color, a decisive and captivating olfactory texture, with references to dog rose, plums, blackberries and blackcurrant jam, tones of cocoa, licorice, cardamom, contained references to sweet and toasted wood, memories of cinchona and vegetal nuances. The taste is energetic, rich, the tannin already integrated, the softness and sweetness of the fruit prevails but the acidity provides the necessary shoulder to balance it. A wine not particularly complex but very faithful to the characteristics of the two grape varieties.
