Single-variety grappa obtained from the distillation of Sagrantino grape marc from our vineyards. It is aged in oak barrels and has a golden yellow color full of amber reflections. The odorous compounds extracted from the wood are perceived which give great complexity. The taste is therefore complex, full-bodied and persistent.

The Tonda Preview is an anticipation of what will be the Vigna Tonda, a cru that we will make with similar techniques but whose grapes will come exclusively from our “round vineyard”; a vineyard already present in the first map of the estate dated 1902, and which a few years ago we decided to replant in its characteristic circular shape following the features of this ancient design. Replanting still too recent to be able to consider ready the fruits for the wine we want to propose.

Ruby red with garnet hues, it smells of mixed berries, violet and peony, hints of minerals, spices and medicinal herbs. Great taste expression, with excellent balance, has velvety tannins and fragrant acidity that make the structure elegant and powerful. Very long persistence with mineral references. Excellent on braised game, on breaded lamb chops and with very seasoned and tasty cheeses.

Company
One hundred and seventy-five hectares in a unique body of land in the centre of the Montefalco DOCG area.
The soils, clayey and rich in limestone, have different geological origins: deep some, rich in skeleton others, giving the wines intense and varied nuances; austere hills, surrounded by woods, with an ideal microclimate for vines and olives. Ten hectares are dedicated to olive groves, fifty to vineyards, arranged on the tops of the hills and facing south and west. We grow mainly native varieties: Grechetto and Trebbiano Spoletino for the whites, Sangiovese and Sagrantino for the reds.
At the centre of the Antonelli San Marco winery, right under the old manor house, is the cellar, completely underground and designed for gravity-flow vinification, i.e., the entry of the crushed grapes into the fermenters and the subsequent draining of the marc without the use of pumps, but by gravity.
Only grapes of their own production are vinified, from organic farming, so as to offer a product that is fully controlled at every stage, with the added guarantee of organic certification of both grapes and wine.
The company also offers wine tourism hospitality in the ancient Casale Satriano, carefully restored and furnished: 6 flats with swimming pool, surrounded by vineyards and a unique panorama, a stone's throw from the most beautiful Umbrian medieval villages.
Recently, the farm has undertaken the breeding of pigs in the wild and the production of cured meats. It is also possible to organise black and white truffle hunting on the estate.
Finally, Cucina in Cantina, the cooking school of Antonelli San Marco, offers Umbrian cooking courses, lunches and dinners by reservation for groups, wine tastings and guided tours of the historic estate.
History
The origins of the estate are lost in history. Medieval documents mention 'San Marco de Corticellis' as a Longobard agricultural court, in one of the areas most suited to the cultivation of vines and olives.
From the 13th to the 19th century, the estate belonged to the Bishop of Spoleto (the current boundaries are almost the same as those described in a 13th century document, preserved in the bishop's archive).
In 1881, Francesco Antonelli, a lawyer from Spoleto, bought the property. A radical work of transformation and modernisation of the facilities and crops began: a report from 1899 already mentions vineyards with 5,000 vines per hectare, as well as the profound transformation of the settlers' living conditions, 'because their sincerity, ease and comfort in meeting domestic needs makes them more suitable and industrious in their work, and attaches them to the land...'. And it is with this philosophy that the company arrived in 1979 to undertake the activity of bottling wines.
Antonelli San Marco
One of the oldest wineries in the denomination, Antonelli San Marco has been owned by the family of the same name since 1881. Comprising 190 hectares in a unique body of land in the centre of the DOCG area of Montefalco, since 2009 it has fully converted to certified organic farming for all production.
The clay and limestone-rich soils, with different geological origins, form austere hills surrounded by woods, with an ideal microclimate for vines and olives. Ten hectares are dedicated to olive groves, while approximately fifty hectares are planted with vines, mainly facing south and west. We grow indigenous varieties: Grechetto and Trebbiano Spoletino for the whites, Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Sagrantino for the reds (Sagrantino di Montefalco and Rosso di Montefalco), whose wines are available for sale in our Shop area.
At the centre of the winery, right under the old manor house, is the cellar, which is completely underground and designed for gravity-flow winemaking. A structure with a low environmental impact that provides for the entry of the crushed grapes into the fermenters, and the subsequent discharge of the marc, without the use of pumps, but by gravity, guaranteeing greater control of the first delicate stages of fermentation and maceration, as well as saving energy resources.
We also offer wine tourism hospitality in the ancient Casale Satriano. Surrounded by vineyards and a unique panorama, it is located a short distance from the most beautiful Umbrian villages, and consists of carefully restored and furnished flats. The swimming pool of the farmhouse is for the exclusive use of our guests.
Recently the farm has undertaken the breeding of pigs in the wild and the production of cured meats. It is also possible to organise truffle hunting on the estate.
