Rinaldini
Over the years it has expanded with new compartments and cellars: a shed is dedicated to the shelter of ultra-modern and recently renovated agricultural tools, a cellar is intended for vinification and processing and another for bottling and packaging.
All are equipped with state-of-the-art systems and equipment, so as to maintain the highest possible level of quality, without however forgetting the tradition and the teachings dictated by experience. Two underground cellars have been hollowed out in the company which branch out for 1,000 m2.
The first was set up as a barrique cellar with French aliè oak and acacia barrels, where the finest wines age. The second, completely underground, is a real champagne "cave", where the bottles of sparkling wine are aged and the remuage is performed manually. The wines rest in the same cellars for refinement in the bottle before being put on the market. In the centennial vaulted stable, where once the cows relaxed for the production of Parmigiano-Reggiano, there is now a tasting counter and the point of sale of the products, framed by ancient oenological and peasant equipment.
The production derives exclusively from our 15-hectare vineyards, which are grown on mixed gravel alluvial soils, spurred cordon, with a high density of vines per hectare and low production yield, equipped with an underground drip irrigation system. For their protection and respect for nature, we use very modern machinery, which dispenses very little quantity of environmentally compatible pesticides. The viticultural composition is of highly and wisely selected varieties of 60,000 vines, so as to be able to express the maximum qualitative revelation in the wines and then be able to fully enjoy them.
History
Our farm was founded in the late sixties by father Rinaldo Rinaldini, who at the time ran a renowned restaurant with his family, where wines and cured meats were handcrafted and where the most authentic dishes of Emilian cuisine were served.
The business sector is located halfway between Reggio Emilia and Parma, at the foot of the Matilda hills. The love for the land, the admiration and knowledge of the "champenois" rites grew over time and it was precisely this that led our family to be winemakers.
Thanks to technique and curiosity, it was decided to save ancient vines, otherwise condemned to extinction. In just a few years it has thus been demonstrated that real miracles can be born from land and vines abused by producers and forgotten by the masters of winemaking culture.
Even today the business has maintained its family character, in fact Paola Rinaldini takes care of managing the entire transformation cycle, from grapes to the bottle, with her husband Marco Melegari and their son Luca, the latter is also responsible of vineyard care. The cellar was created from an old farmhouse dating back to 1884 which stands in the center of the vineyards.
