Macramé is a name of Arab origin: it indicates a lace weave created according to an ancient marine technique with tightly intertwined yarns and knotted together by hand to form fringes. Macramé is the result of the intertwining of the Ne o 'Avola and Merlot vines with the territory (soil, climate) and the work of the men who take care of it. It requires a slight drying of the grapes already on the plant and a long maceration on the skins.
