The total area of the vineyards is 340 hectares divided into two parts: the first, of 366 hectares of which 237 are planted with vineyards, is located on the border between the municipality of Montepulciano and that of Cortona. The other plot, 142 hectares of which 103 are vineyards, extends as far as Montepulciano between three of the most renowned sub-areas for the production of great red wines: Cervognano, Santa Pia and Gracciano. The first vintage of La Braccesca Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG was 1990.
Ruby red, intense notes of plum, cherry and raspberry are perceived on the nose, combined with notes of undergrowth and spices. Its roundness and thickness stand out on the palate. Dense ruby color with garnet reflections. Sensations of plum, mulberry and violet expand on the nose, and then unravel on wild and licorice tones. VINIFICATION: The maceration lasts 12-14 days in 45 quintal steel vats at a controlled temperature of 25°C, with frequent pumping over in order to extract the aromatic and coloring substances and at the same time soften the tannic mass. TASTING NOTES Pure Negroamaro, aged in large oak barrels, has an intense and impenetrable red colour. On the nose, hints of ripe cherry, tobacco and carob are perceived. On the palate it is full-bodied, with a great structure with accentuated tannins that balance well with the alcohol and the vanilla notes typical of wines aged in wood. It is best expressed with cured meats, grilled meats and meat sauce.
